MHIAA Launches National Service Department Training Program for FY26/27

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-Conditioners Australia (MHIAA) has announced the launch of its FY26/27 Service Department Training Program, a comprehensive national training initiative designed to strengthen technical capability across Australia’s HVAC industry.
The program will deliver a series of hands-on technical training sessions throughout FY26/27, supporting installers, service technicians, commissioning personnel, service agents and industry partners in developing their product knowledge, troubleshooting skills and service expertise across the MHIAA product range.
Developed and delivered by experienced MHIAA technical service specialists, the training pathway has been designed to help participants improve installation quality, increase fault-finding efficiency and achieve better outcomes for end users through practical, real-world learning experiences.
Training Streams
The FY26/27 program includes three tailored training streams, allowing participants to select a course aligned with their experience and role requirements. These include Installation Overview & Troubleshooting Training, Technical Training, and Advanced Technical & KXZ3 Training.
The Installation Overview & Troubleshooting course focuses on installation best practice, electrical wiring fundamentals, common installation errors and basic troubleshooting techniques. Designed primarily for installers, commissioning technicians and newer technical personnel, the course aims to improve installation quality while reducing callbacks and warranty-related issues.
Technical Training provides a deeper understanding of diagnostics, servicing procedures and component testing. Participants will gain practical knowledge in inverter technology, control systems, refrigeration performance analysis and refrigerant leak detection, helping improve service efficiency and diagnostic accuracy.
For experienced technicians and technical specialists, the Advanced Technical & KXZ3 Training stream focuses on advanced VRF system operation, complex diagnostics, refrigeration cycle analysis and advanced fault-finding methodologies. The course is designed to build confidence when working on sophisticated commercial systems and challenging technical applications.
National Training Locations
Training sessions will be conducted nationally across MHIAA offices, including Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Townsville and Auckland, providing convenient access for participants across Australia and New Zealand. The first sessions commence in August 2026, with additional programs scheduled throughout the year.
“Technical expertise is critical to achieving reliable system performance and delivering positive customer outcomes,” said William Guinane Head of Service & Warranty.
“Through this training program, we’re investing in the ongoing development of our industry partners and service network by providing practical learning opportunities that support best practice installation, servicing and troubleshooting across our product range.”
The FY26/27 Service Department Training Program forms part of MHIAA’s ongoing commitment to supporting the HVAC industry through technical education, product expertise and professional service support. Participants will benefit from direct access to MHIAA technical specialists while building the knowledge and confidence required to work effectively across residential, commercial and VRF applications.
